Notes
As I begin to develop ideas around a PhD research investigation, I’ve taken a few notes from a conversation with my supervisor, done over Zoom video chat. These are jot notes only, without reflections or insights. Those will come from deeper conversations.
- look for others to become part of the dissertation committee, both within the faculty and in the partner faculties – a few names were mentioned for me to look further at their work, research and interests.
- talked about a course from Athabasca that is in the early stages of redesign titled Inside Plato’s Cave – take a look at this site and see what it’s all about
- connections in the conversation about John Fiske – do a search and review information about this for background information
- mention of Ivan Illich book ABC: The Alphabetization of the Popular Mind and, with a search for this resource, I also found Tools for Conviviality (short synopsis here) which may also apply to alternative views, more from infed.org is here
