GO-GN at OEGlobal – 10th in 2023

Celebrating a milestone is always memorable. The upcoming 10th anniversary event for the Global Open Graduate Network is such a milestone. I’ve been a GO-GN participant and engager since before my PhD journey began, to it’s fitting that I make the trip to Edmonton to share in the festivities. I’ve dreamed of attending a GO-GN event since I randomly attended some of the sessions presented at the OEGlobal 2018 conference in Delft, Netherlands. While not officially part of the participating group that year, I shadowed and learned along with those who were official attendees. Names like Verena Roberts, Leo Havemann, Beck Pitt, Caroline Kuhn, Chrissy Nerantsi, Rob Farrow, and of course Martin Weller, are now familiar and oft cited references to this network.

This time I have the honour of attending and participating along with over 30 others from 15 different countries, all with a passion for open education research. Not only will I participate and present at the GO-GN workshop which happens before the OEGlobal conference, I will also present at the conference as well. Two presentations to share, each one emerging from my PhD research into the media and digital literacies of Canadian teacher educators’ open educational practices. I’m posting the links and notes here so attendees to my sessions can find these presentations – in the open!

I look forward to many interesting and informative conversations at the GO-GN 10th anniversary event and the OEGlobal conference. I’ll be sure to write a reflective post after the workshop and conference!
