Prep and planning
Today, it begins officially. It’s kicking off and I’m realizing how much work is going to be needed. I’m certain I knew that, in the back of my recall from the MET program, but it’s becoming a crisp and current concern.
I have received an email from the 6020 – Doctoral Seminar 1 course instructors. It outlines the readings, topics and assignments. I’m digging in today to get a handle on the work, look at how I’ll accomplish the readings (pdf reader on iPad?) and the technical considerations when I shift my location to Thunder Bay.
Four hours later: I’ve glanced at the course content for each of the modules, downloaded and linked readings into my D2L Binder, and now will take time to consider how manage the quantity of reading that is required while using the documentation formats suggested: Four Step Clarity of Purpose or Argument in one/first paragraph. I’m examining this format to compare to the BINS format that Jenni shared to see what the similarities may be.
I’ve also downloaded Adobe PDF reader so I can have the computer read the articles to me while I make notes on key points as I read/reflect.
NEXT: completed the Unconscious Bias Training Module as required.
