Wasting my time
This week has not been a waste of time. It’s been an interesting exploration of the struggles and challenges we face when confronted by a truth, a belief, and our own fallibility. As I dig into the topic of learning styles, in conversation with others in the course, I come to realize that what I once believed, and moved on from, is what others are still believing. Will I face similar disconcertedness when examining other firmly held beliefs about teaching and learning – should these be discovered to be completely false?
At first, I was annoyed that this week would be a waste of time. What it’s ending up being is a renewing and confirmation of my own belief systems in teaching and learning, while extending outward to new and interconnected beliefs, as shared by others. I’ve been collecting some core resources and research links from the others in the course, ones to followup with in future reading. I’ll share some in this post to hold them in place for another time. [Tagged – Future Reading].
